يتناول هذا الكتاب \"النقود المتداولة في زمن علي بك الكبير وقيمها النقدية\" وهو موضوع قدم كأطروحة للماجستير في جامعة القاهرة، وتكمن أهميته التاريخية والتوثيقية في كونه يبحث في الأسباب التي دفعت علي بك لضرب نقوده، ودراسة طرز النقود التي سكها، والدور الاقتصادي والنقدي الذي لعبته تلك النقود في الحياة النقدية المصرية من خلال دراسة وافية لأسعار إبدال وصرف هذه النقود، وحصر أسماء الصرافين الذين عملوا في تلك الفترة من خلال سجلات المحاكم الشرعية، وكان لهذه الإصلاحات النقدية دور كبير على الضربخانة، حيث أدخل علي بك لأول مرة المخرطة التي استخدمت في سك نقوده، هذا وغيره يجعل من الكتاب مرجعا تاريخيا مهما لفترة من فترات الحضارة المصرية.
