يتناول هذا الكتاب جزءا مهما وضروريا من أرض الوطن العزيز مصر، سيناء تلك الأرض التي سالت دماء كثيرة على أرضها منذ أقدم العصور. ا من أهمية الأرض والبشر والتاريخ يحاول هذا الكتاب إتاحة مجموعة من الوثائق وانطلاق الرسمية للدولة المصرية تتناول سيناء خلال القرن التاسع عشر، وتتناول معلومات مهمة عن الأوضاع السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية لسيناء خلال قرن كامل. ولعل من أهم ما يعرضه هذا الكتاب، موقف أهالي سيناء من الثورة العرابية وعلاقتهم بالسلطة المركزية في القاهرة، والنشاط الاقتصادي لهم خصوصا بعد افتتاح قناة السويس كما يتناول الكتاب العلاقات الاجتماعية لأهالي سيناء.
