تعد الحروب الصليبية أهم الأحداث التي كانت السبب في تشكيل عالمين متصارعين يكنان العداء بعضهما لبعض والأساس في خلق الشرق والغرب بكل تناقضاتهما وما لهما من جذور عقائدية ودينية مهدت الطريق لحروب دينية ما زالت آثارها حتى اليوم وتعددت أشكال عودتها في الوقت الحاضر بمسميات مختلفة وكان من نتائجها غزو أفغانستان والعراق وسبقهما بعقود تأسيس كيان صهيوني جديد، لا يفرق عن ذاك الكيان الصليبي الذي أقامه الصليبيون عند قدومهم في نهاية القرن الحادي عشر وتأسيس مملكة بيت المقدس بعد احتلالها وذبح أهلها الذين قدّر أعدادهم المؤرخون بعشرات الالآف من المسلمين ومن ضمنهم يهود أيضا كما في حادثة حرقهم بعد تجمعهم في معبد في الحي الشمالي.
