يلاحظ أن أكثر ما ورد من الشعر في هذا الكتاب لا يشير إلى طابع معين ينفرد به الشاعر ويمثل طريقته الشعرية الخاصة، حيث لا يعدو كونه أيضا بداية لشيوع حركة التصنيع التي ظهرت بوادرها في الأدب العربي في ذلك العصر. هذا وقد تحدثت المصادر القديمة وبعض المصادر الحديثة عن هذا الكتاب (الأنوار) وذكرته في بداية مؤلفات الرجل. ومما يلاحظ في هذا الباب أن الكثير من المصادر القديمة وبعض الحديثة ذكرت أن اسم الكتاب هو \"الأنوار والثمار\" جمع فيه المؤلف ما قيل في هذين الفنين.
