هذا الكتاب وهو عبارة عن قصة طويلة نسبيا للأطفال من عمر 7 إلى 13 سنة، وصيغت القصة بأسلوب \"المنولوج الداخلي\"، وهو أسلوب يختلف عما كتبه الكاتب من قصص سابقة ؛ إذ تبدأ القصة بعدد من التساؤلات (السلبية) لبطل القصة وتنتهي بأسئلة (إيجابية) تكون خاتمة للحدث العام. أما الحبكة القصصية فقد أخذت منحنى المزاوجة بين الواقع والخيال، كما اختار الكاتب شخصيات غير مألوفة تمثلت بالقطع الشطرنجية، بالاستفادة من لعبة الشطرنج كونها أحد أهم الألعاب الذهنية القادرة على تحفيز القدرات الذاتية، وشحن العقل بالطاقة الإيجابية. ويقع الكتاب في 60 صفحة من الحجم المتوسط، قامت الفنانة البحرينية شذر الوسواسي بوضع الرسوم التشكيلية والإخراج الفني للكتاب.
