هذا الكتاب واحد مع صغر حجمه وبساطة لغته إلا أنه من أهم كتب الصوفية. وهو غير متوفر منذ فترة طويلة. محيي الدين محمد بن علي بن محمد بن عربي الحاتمي الطائي الأندلسي، أحد أشهر المتصوفين لقبه أتباعه وغيرهم من الصوفيين \"بالشيخ الأكبر\". ولد في الأندلس عام 558 هجري الموافق 1164 ميلادي وتوفي في دمشق عام 638 هجري الموافق 1240 ميلادي. «المكتبة الصوفية الصغيرة» : سلسلة تضم عددا من كتب التصوف الأساسية والمهمة، صغيرة الحجم، سهلة اللغة، بسيطة العبارة، تهم كل من يجذبه الحكمة والزهد والتصوف ولكنه لا يريد المجلدات الكبيرة والشروح المعقدة. أغلفتها وتنسيقها الداخلي جذابان ويجمعان بين التراث والتصميم المعاصر في أناقة وبساطة. حجم الكتب صغير ليسهل وضعها في حقيبة اليد أو الجيب.\"
