يشكل هذا الكتاب قراءة في فكر ميرزا مهدي الأصفهاني أحد أكبر علماء الشيعة في القرن الرابع الهجري والذي أدت آراؤه الفقهية والعقدية إلى ظهور حركات وتيارات تجديدية وازدهارها في العديد من الحوزات الدينية وخاصة في مدينة مشهد (إيران) ما دفع الكثير من العلماء وطلبة العلوم الدينية إلى الإهتمام بآرائه والبحث في نظرياته وبناء عليه جمع مترجم هذا الكتاب الأستاذ \"عباس جواد\" مجموعة من الدراسات التي تناولت فكر الأصفهاني والذي عرف بـ \"رائد التفكير في المعرفة الدينية\" ونقلها إلى العربية بغية تسليط الضوء على المدرسة التفكيكية والمساعدة في توضيح المبادىء النظرية العامة التي تؤمن بها هذه المدرسة عبر التعريف بأحد أعلامها ومن كتبوا في فلسفته الدينية.
