كان (الإعتبار) أحد أهم قواعد المنهج الضابطة الناظمة لقواعد علوم الحديث كونه يتفرع منه عدد كبير من الأنواع وعلى رأسها معرفة تفرد الراوي من عدمه وأمر يتوقف عليه في كثير من الأحيان إكتشاف علل الأحاديث والروايات ولأهمية (الإعتبار) في علوم الحديث قامت الباحثة (شماء الأسمر) بالتصدي لهذا الموضوع محاولة تحرير منهج المحدثين العلمي في الإستقراء وتتبع الطرق، حيث جمعت مادة البحث من مصادر علوم الحديث وكتبه محللة ومناقشة ومؤصلة، ثم ثنت العنان بعد ذلك نحو بعض كتب الرواية مبينة وموضحة من خلال تطبيقات الأئمة رضوان الله عليهم، فقدمت بذلك سفرا نفيسا دالا على تمكن بهذا العلم ومعرفة بدقائقه.
