كتاب \"منطق الطير\" يقدم دراسة مزدوجة لشخصية العطار وكتابة منطق الطير فيقدم من خلال صفحات القسم الأول من الكتاب دراسة وافية لشخصية العطار ومناقبه ونظرية إلى الفلسفة والفلاسفة ومن ثم نقد وتحليل لمنظومة منطق الطير أما في قسمه الثاني والأخير فيقدم دراسة لمنظومة \"منطق الطير\" التي تعد أشهر منظومات العطار وأعظمها جميعا وأوسعها شهرة، التي تشهد بإبداع صاحبها في النظم وتعد دليلا عظيما على تفوق الفرس في نظم القصة الشعرية منذ قرون عديدة وقد تأثر العطار بالغزالي في قصته هذه الذي أخذ أصولها عن \"رسالة الطير للغزالي\" أما بنية هذا الكتاب فتدور حول المناجاة والمدح وذم التعصب حيث نطقت الطيور بأفكار البشر فجعلها تسعى جاهدة حتى تدرك الاتصال بالله.
