\"أوقات عصيبة\" هي عاشر وأهم رواية لعملاق الأدب البريطاني \"تشارلز ديكنز\"؛ يظهر فيها المجتمع الإنجليزي بكل ضغوطه الاجتماعية والإقتصادية في ذلك الزمان. تختلف هذه الرواية عن غيرها من روايات ديكنز أنها لا تدور في لندن ولا ضواحيها وإنما في مدينة صناعية خيالية في شمال إنجلترا. يدور في الرواية صراع حول حب المال والمادة مقابل القلب والعواطف الإنسانية.
