يعرض هذا الكتاب لقوى في الداخل وفي الخارج تتجاذب مصر للفوز بها. قوى الداخل المصري تريد رسم كيان مصر : مصر التاريخ، مصر الدور، مصر الحضارة وهذه القوى شايعت التاريخ المصري منذ أيام الملكية 1922 ميلادية حتى سقوط مبارك، تحلم أن ترى مصر التي تفترضها مخيلتها، بغض النظر عن الارتهان لسياسة الأمر الواقع. فهؤلاء يرون أن مصر جديرة بأن تقهر الواقع وليس فقط أن تتماشى معه ومن هذه الرؤية يكمن الصراع في داخل مصر، ليس بالضرورة من أجل حكم مصر، بل من أجل إعادتها إلى المكان والدور الذي يليق بها كدولة لها أكثر من سبعة آلاف سنة. فالتيارات الإسلامية والأحزاب والنخب وأخيرا الشباب الوقود الحقيقي للثورة ونجاحها، كا هؤلاء خرجوا من قاع البئر القديم، ليرسموا مصر المستقبل، كل حسب طريقته وأيديولوجيته وتحالفاته، في الداخل والخارج وللخارج اهتمام برسم مصر ما بعد الثورة من أجل مصلحة كيانه وليس من أجل مصر.
