يرصد كتاب «كاميرا بعشر روبيات» لشيخة جاسم محمد مبارك السويدي، سيرة شيخة السويدي أول مصورة إماراتية، وبداية شغفها بالتصوير الفوتوغرافي، عندما اشترت أول كاميرا بمبلغ 10 دراهم، لتبدأ بعدها مشوارا طويلا في احتراف فن التصوير، قبل قيام دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، تاركة بصمات عديدة في كل بقعة من بقاع الإمارات.تقول السويدي عن مسيرتها الفنية «آلة التصوير نادتني فلبيت النداء، وبدأت أصور الأحياء القديمة والفرجان التي تنقلت بينها في فترة الخمسينات والستينات من القرن الماضي، وكذلك بيوت العريش التي عشت فيها، والبيئة البحرية، وخور دبي، وسفن الصيد واللؤلؤ والتجارة. يا له من زمن، ويا لها من كاميرا مستعارة من موظف في مكتب في خور دبي، إلى كاميرا مشتراة لي، على تصوير أهلي وأحبابي في دبي، حيث عشت أجمل أيامي وصباي، فكانت حياة وأي حياة».
