جعل (بيدبا الكتاب) على ألسن البهائم والطير صيانة لغرضه فيه من الطغام وبخلا بما ضمنه عن العوام وتنزيها للحكمة وفنونها ومحاسنها وعيونها ؛ إذ هي للفيلسوف مندوحة ولخاطره مفتوحة ولمحبيها تثقيف ولطالبيها تشريف\". ثم قام \"برزويه\" طبيب كسرى\"أنوشروان\" بسرقته سرا في القرن السادس الميلادي بأمر من كسرى وترجمه إلى الفارسية وزاد عليه فصولا حتى وصلت نسخة منه إلى الأديب عبدالله بن المقفع وقام بترجمته إلى العربية وزاد عليه فصولا من عنده. هذا مختصر قصة هذا الكتاب العجيب وقبل أن نناقش هذه المعلومات نريد أن نتعرف على ابن المقفع المترجم.
