هذا الكتاب فريد في موضوعه ووحيد في بابه وثمين في معلوماته التاريخية في الأدب العربي وواسع في مصادره ومراجعه جاء طافحا بالمقالات والبحوث القيمة كما جاء انيقا بطبعته إذ يعد هذا الكتاب فريدا في تاريخ اللغة العربية وكنزا من كنوز الادب العربي وهو ذو فائدة لطلاب العلم والمعرفة ويعد مرجعا للدارسين والباحثين إذ إن المعلومات التي وردت فيه إنما هي آثار خالدة ومفخرة للادب العربي وتحدث المؤلف في الكتاب أنه أتى على البلاغة العربية حين من الدهر لم تكن فيها إلا بذور ظهرت في كتب اللغة والنحو والدراسة القرآنية.
