الكتاب يتناول موضوع عن غزوة خيبر وهي من غزوات النبي (ص) ضد يهود خيبر، بدأت في محرم عام 7 هجري وانتهت في صفر بفتح خيبر وكان سببها أن يهود خيبر آوی رؤساء يهود بني النضير الذين أخرجهم الرسول (ص) من المدينة وبدءوا بتحريض بعض قبائل العرب ضد المسلمين. تغلب المسلمون في هذه الغزوة علی اليهود وإثر معاهدة تمت بین الطرفين تقرر أن یخرج المقاتلون الیهود مع عائلاتهم من خيبر وتكون أراضيهم وممتلكاتهم للمسلمين ولکن بعد طلبهم أذن لهم رسول الله أن يبقوا في خيبر ويستمروا بزراعتهم ويأخذوا لهم نصف منتجاتها. اتسمت معالم الغزوة ببطولات علي بن أبي طالب (ع) وحفلت وزخرت بمناقبه حتى تطاولت لمآثره أعناق الآخرين وطمع بها غيره ؛ أطاح برؤوس الأبطال من القادة واقتلع بيده باب الحصن الأعظم وامتاز على غيره بمحبة من الله ورسوله وجبريل.
