يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن تغيب الطلبة حيث إن حضور الطلبة بانتظام في المدرسة يعد شرطا ضروريا لاستفادتهم من التعليم ففقدان الطالب لبعض الدروس يؤثر سلبا في أدائه التعليمي يجعله عرضة للتخلف عن أقرانه وقد يؤدي تكرار التغيب عن المدرسة إلى الرسوب وربما التسرب من التعليم في نهاية المطاف ولذلك يمثل تغيب الطلبة عن المدرسة أحد أخطر العوامل المؤدية إلى الهدر في التعليم ولا تقتصر الآثار السلبية للتغيب على الجانب التعليمي فقط بل تترتب عليه مشكلات سلوكية واجتماعية خطيرة تؤثر على المجتمع بأكمله.
