\"تاجر البندقية\" إحدى الكوميديات \"شكسبير\" حدثت وقائعها في مدينة \"البندقية\" حيث كان يعيش \"شايلوك\" اليهودي المرابي واشتدت العواوة بينه وبين \"أنطونيو\" الشاب الطبيب الذي كان يقرض المال لكل من نزلت به كارثة بدون فائدة واضطر \"أنطونيو\" إلى أن يقترض من \"شايلوك\" بضمان شحنات السفن التي يمتلكها في عرض البحر ولكن أتت الرياح بما لا تشتهي السفن، فقد غرقت بشحناتها وأصر \"شايلوك\" على أن يأخذ رطلا من لحم \"أنطونيو\" تنفيذا للصك ورفض سداد الدين نقدا وهكذا تتوالى الأحداث بشكل ممتع حتى نهاية المسرحية.
