التنشئة السياسية هي الوسيلة التي عن طريقتها تنتقل الثقافة السياسة لأعضاء المجتمع فهى إذن عملية تعلم الحياة السياسة وهي الوسيلة التي عن طريقها تبقى الثقافات السياسية أو تتغير فالإنسان لا يولد ديمقراطيا ولا دكتاتوريا ولكنه من خلال عملية التنشئة الاجتماعية والسياسية التى تقوم بها المؤسسات التربوية (الأسرة والمدرسة والأحزاب السياسية وسائل الإعلام بمختلف أنواعها ودور الشباب ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني (كالجمعيات والنوادي الثقافية وأخرى) يمكن أن يتعلم الديمقراطية أو الديكتاتورية وفق ما يتشريه من قيم ومبادئ وما تنمو فيها من خصائص في الشخصية وما يجده من ممارسات وأفعال يقتدي بها.
