يتناول هذا الكتاب \"السيرة الخلدونية\" سيرة الفيلسوف العربي الفذ بكل ما فيها من إخفاقات شخصية وسياسية واجتماعية إن لجهة اصطراعه مع نفسه، حول مسألة التفرغ للعلم والمعرفة واضطراره في المقابل للتكيف العصيب مع ظروف العمل وطلب الرزق أو لاحتكاكه بتناقضات السلاطين في عصره الذين كانوا يحشرونه حشرا في صراعاتهم وخلافاتهم المستحكمة وعلاوة على فقدانه عائلته إثر غرق السفينة التي أقلتهم في طريقها البحري إليه خصوصا أنه اضطر بعد هذه الفاجعة الاستثنائية إلى أن ينعزل ثلاث سنوات بعد عزله من القضاء.
