يتحدث الكتاب عن بلاد الرافدين حيث يتناول دراسة في تاريخ وحضارة العراق القديم وشملت الدراسة تاريخ وحضارة العراق منذ العصور الحجرية لأنها نقطة البداية للحضارة الإنسانية حيث تم ترجمة قصيدة (لعنة أكد) بشكل كامل لان مضمونها يوضح موقف السومريين من الدولة الاكدية كما تطرق الكاتب إلى الفترة المظلمة التي مرت بها بلاد الرافدين وشرح دبلوماسية المملكة الكيشية في بابل او ملوك آشور من جهة أخرى وقدم الكاتب استعراض كامل لملوك بلاد سومر بابل وآشور عسكريا وعمرانيا من عام (539 ق.م)
