يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن تطور الطائرات حيث بدأ علم الإنسان بالطيران عندما تابع طيران الطيور فكانت أول محاولة \"لعباس بن فرناس\" عندما صنع جناحين وغطاهما بريش ووضعهما على يديه ولكن محاولته باءت بالفشل وكلفه ذلك حياته ومع مرور الوقت وملاحظة الإنسان واكتشف أنه لكي يستطيع الطيران يجب توفر قوتين قوة تدفع للأعلى والأخرى تدفع للأمام وكانت أول مركبة هوائية حملت الناس بعيدا عن سطح الأرض كان بالونا هوائيا وذلك عام ١٧٨٣ عن طريق الأخوين \"جوزيف وإتيان\" حيث اكتشف أنه عند ملء كيس بالهواء الساخن وإحكام سده سيرتفع الكيس إلى أعلى فقاما بصنع الكيس ووصله بسلة فارتفع الكيس لمدة 25 دقيقة.
