يتناول كتاب (الشاعر، أو، سيرانو دي برجراك) والذي قام بتأليفه للشاعر الفرنسي إدمون روستان في حوالي (232) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (الشاعر) هذا الكتاب هو مسرحية بعنوان \"سيرانو دي برجراك\" للكاتب إدمون روستان، وقد عربها مصطفى لطفي المنفلوطي كرواية تحت عنوان \"الشاعر\"، وتحكي قصة \"كريستيان دي نوفييت\" و\"روكسان\"، الفتاة الشريفة المتعلمة وافرة الفضل والذكاء عالية الهمة المولعة بالشعر والأدب، وكان لا يعجبها من الكلام إلا ذلك النوع الذي يسمونه بالصناعة اللفظية، وكانت تعيش عيشا رغدا بفضل ثروة ورثتها عن أبويها، وهي ابنة عم \"سيرانو دي برجراك\" الذي ضحی بنفسه في سبيل سعادتها.
