أعد هذا الكتاب إعادة قراءة للشعر العربي قبل الإسلام في ضوء منظور جديد ورؤية مختلفة وهو ليس إلا خطوة أرجو أن تتبعها خطوات لإعادة فهم القصيدة التي أغلقت عن الدرس العلمي بإجابات لم يكن كثير منها يسير في جادة الصواب ويقتضي مشروع إعادة قراءة الشعر الجاهلي جمع التراث غير المادي ابتداء وذلك لكي يساءل هذا التراث وتستنطق نصوصه ومن ثم كان من المهم رسم منهج لجمع التراث غير المادي في المملكة وذلك ليتسنى لنقاد الشعر الجاهلي وغيرهم استكمال مشروع إعادة قراءة الأدب الجاهلي الذي يستهدف هذا الكتاب وضع أسسه ولن يتأتى ذلك إلا إن كانت القراءة في ضوء التراث غير المادي لبيئات إنتاجه.
