يجيب وليد نويهض في كتابه \"نشوء النخبة الأو روبية 1400-1920\"، حسبما يذكر البيان الصحفي، الصادر عن الدار، بأن الإجابة على هذا السؤال تحتاج عودة تاريخية إلى فترة البدء حتى يتمكن القارئ من التقاط تلك اللحظة الزمنية التى ساهمت في كسر معادلة التوازن بين العالمين العربى والأوربى. وتوضح الدار أن كتاب \"نشوء النخبة الأوروبية.. 1400-1920\" لمؤلفه الأستاذ وليد نويهض يؤشر إلى تلك اللحظة التى بدأت في القرن الخامس عشر، وأخذت بالنمو والصعود الطردى بعد تغيير خطوط التجارة القديمة (طريق الحرير) وعبور السفن المحيطات، وصولا إلى الدوران حول رأس الرجاء الصالح واكتشاف أميركا في نهاية ذلك القرن. بعدها أخذت أو روبا بالنهوض من خلال ما أسماه الكتاب \"تعانق العمران مع المعرفة\"، ما أدى إلى تشقق الكنيسة في القرن السادس عشر وظهور حالات من التمرد على القديم.
