يتناول كتاب (عشرون شتاء) يوميات للكاتب الطبيب \"حمودي نشمي\" يحكي قصة طبيب عسكري عراقي يصارع مع نفسه ومع الأوضاع في تسعينيات القرن الماضي، قضى سنين حياته بالهروب والاضطهاد، حاله حال العراقيين المظلومين، كان حلمه أن يهرب من وطن حلم في أن يكون فيه طبيبا يقدر ويحترم ! لم يجد من يقدر شهادته إلا بلد يبعد آلاف الكيلو مترات عن تراب نشأ فيه فقام بالهرب من العراق ويسافر مابين إيران واليمن وماليزيا وإندنوسيا واستراليا.
