كتاب (باب ذكر المعتزلة وطبقاتهم) والذي قام بتأليفه أحمد بن يحيى المرتضى في حوالي (136) صفحة من القطع الكبير، والكتاب هو أحد أبواب كتاب المنية والأمل في شرح كتاب الملل والنحل، لنفس المؤلف المتوفى سنة ٨٤٠ هجري، فهو ألف كتابا سماه البحر الزخار الجامع لمذاهب علماء الأمصار، ثم كتب له مقدمة كلامية، ثم شرحها في إحدى عشر كتابا، وسمى هذا الشرح غايات الأفكار ونهايات الأنظار المحيطة بعجائب البحر الزخار، والمنية والأمل هو شرح السفر الأول وهو الملل والنحل.
