سيدنا آدم-عليه السلام-أبو البشرية، وأول الأنبياء، اسم يغني البشرية عن كثرة التفكير في ابتداء الحياة الإنسانية على هذه الأرض، وينهي كثرة الافتراضات الفاسدة التي يختلقها الذهن البشري، نفخ الله فيه من روحه وابتدأت كل حركة للإنسان بعد ذلك ؛ قال الله-تعالى-في القرآن الكريم : (لقد خلقنا الإنسان في أحسن تقويم ثم رددناه أسفل سافلين إلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات فلهم أجر غير ممنون) (سورة التين، الآيات : 4-6) دخل سيدنا آدم-عليه السلام-الجنة وعاش في نعيمها مع زوجه السيدة حواء يتقلب فيها حيث يشاء، وعدوه إبليس يتربص به ويوسوس إليه قائلا : (هل أدلك على شجرة الخلد وملك لا يبلى) (سورة طه، من الآية (120)) فما زال به حتى أكل هو وزوجه من الشجرة (وعصى آدم ربه فغوى)(سورة طه، من الآية (121)) فأهبطا من الجنة لينفذ قدر الله.
