يتناول هذا الكتاب قصة الفاروق عمر بن الخطاب، كان مستشارا للنبي محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ومن الصحابة المقربين إليه. يعرف بأسماء وألقاب مثل : أمير المؤمنين وأبي حفص والعدوي والقرشي، إلا أنه اشتهر بلقبه \"الفاروق\" ومعناه من يفرق بين الحق والباطل وهو من العشرة المبشرين بالجنة ومن الخلفاء الراشدين وقد تزوج سيدنا محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بابنته السيدة حفصة رضي الله عنها. وكان الفاروق -رضي الله عنه- من الزهاد واشتهر بعدله وقوته في الحق ؛ حيث كان لا يخاف في الله لومة لائم. قتله العبد فيروز أبو لؤلؤة المجوسي في السنة 23هجري، الموافق 7 نوفمبر 644 ميلادي
