يقدم كتاب الأرض رؤية معلوماتية شاملة مدعمة بالصورالفوتوجرافية الرائعة، والرسوم المتنقة، والإخراج الذي يقارب تخوم العمل الفني، من ناحية الإخراج، وتنسيق المحتوى، ودقة الألوان. مؤلفا الكتاب إيد تاربوك و فريد لوتجين، أستاذان جامعيان تمتد خبرتهما في تدريس الجيولوجيا إلى 57 عاما، وعالمان معروفان بخبرتهما الواسعة في البحث الأكاديمي، كما من خلال الجوائز التي نالاها عى جهودهما البحثية (ومنها جائزة ماكجوفي 1970). وقد اكتمل فريق العمل بانضمام دينيس كاسا الفنان الموهوب في التصوير الفوتوجرافي الجيولوجي. فأثرى الكتاب بأكثر من 250 صورة فوتوجرافية ساهمت مع الصور الرقمية الدقيقة الملتقطة عبر الأقمار الصناعية، في تعزيز المحتوى وموثوقية المادة العلمية.
