بالنظر لأهمية هذا الكتاب فقد اعتنى \"وليد محمود خالص\" بتحقيقه، ومن الممكن تلخيص عمله على هذا الكتاب بما يلي : أولا : تقديم قراءة سليمة للأصل المخطوط كما تركه صاحبه الأب أنستاس ماري الكرملي. ثانيا : تخريج الشعر الوارد في المتن. ثالثا : الترجمة لبعض الأعلام الذين وردوا في المتن. رابعا : رد الأخبار، والنصوص إلى مصادرها، وتوثيق نسبتها إلى تلك المصادر، مع التنبيه إلى اختلاف الرواية. خامسا : تقديم شروح ضافية لما أجمله الأب في المتن للتوضيح والفائدة. سادسا : نقل ما هو موجود في المتن من كلمات فرنسية إلى العربية مع الإشارة إلى تلك الكلمات. سابعا : التعليق على ما رآه المحقق مستوجبا للتعليق في مواضع قليلة.
