Overview
إن الثقافة الإسلامية أو العربية ليست هي الثقافة الوحيدة التي حولت المرأة إلى سلعة أو عبدة، ولكن الثقافة الغربية والمسيحية أيضا فعلت ذلك. بل أن قهرها للمرأة كان أشد وأفدح. واضطهاد المرأة لا يرجع إلى الشرق أو الغرب أو الإسلام أو الأديان، ولكنه يرجع أساسا إلى النظم الطبقية الأبوية في المجتمع البشري كله، كذلك في تراثنا العربي والإسلامي إيجابيات يجب البحث عنها وإظهارها وتقويتها. أما السلبيات فيجب علينا أن نتركها بشجاعة وفهم وتعتمد قضية تحرير المرأة العربية على الجمع بين إيجابيات التراث القديم وإيجابيات الفكر المستحدث. التاريخ يدلنا على أن الثورات الاشتراكية وحروب التحرير تسرع بعملية تحرير المرأة في الشرق أو في الغرب.
