يتناول هذا الكتاب سيرة الصحابي \"طارق بن زياد\" وهو طارق بن زياد بن عبد الله فاتح الأندلس ولد عام 50 للهجرة في الجزائر في خنشلة وهو أمازيغي نشأ في بيئة إسلامية عربية، حيث تعلم القرآن الكريم وحفظ بعضا من سوره، كما تعلم أحاديث النبي -عليه السلام-وعلى الرغم من ذلك فقد كان محافظا على لهجته الأم (اللهجة الأمازيغية) جند طارق بن زياد في جيش موسى بن نصير وكان من رجاله الأشداء وهو يعتبر من أهم القادة العسكريين الأمويين في التاريخ وقد سمي الجبل الواقع جنوب إسبانيا باسمه (جبل طارق) تيمنا به.
