يتناول الكتاب فكر الثورة العربية الكبرى وأهدافها فضلا عن مبادئها التي قامت عليها وانبعاثاتها في الحياة المعاصرة إذ لا يمكن دراسة حركة الشعر المعاصر في الأردن دراسة فنية وموضوعية دون الحديث عن الثورة العربية الكبرى بوصفها نصا مؤسسا للإبداع المعاصر في كافة مجالاته، ويتناول الحركة الشعرية في الأردن (1921 1946م) الجذور والامتداد لبيان الجذور الفكرية العميقة التي تأسست عليها الحركة الشعرية في الأردن وتناول أيضا دراسة لأثر الثورة العربية الكبرى في مضامين القصيدة الشعرية المعاصرة وما أمدت به الشعراء من رؤى فكرية لا تقوم على النظرية ويتناول دراسة فنية لأثر الثورة العربية الكبرى في القصائد الشعرية التي استلهمت إرثها الخالد.
