يتحدث الكتاب عن سيرة الخلفاء ويجمع الكاتب بين الأسلوب الأدبي والحقائق التاريخية ويذكر الكاتب شخصيات الخلفاء منهم سيدنا أبو بكر وتعلقه الشديد بسنة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم كما ذكر الكاتب حياة سيدنا عمر وغيرهم من الخلفاء وفي هذا الكتاب قصص هؤلاء الخلفاء والتي جاءت بأسلوب حمل من المشاعر الغامر ومن الصدق الكثير بل الصدق كله أسلوب ابتعد فيه المؤلف عن تكديس المعلومات إلى جلاء الحقائق باستحضار الوقائع حية ليسبغ على روعة المضمون روعة السبك الأدبي الذي لم يغير من الحقيقة شيء بل هو أعطى صورة واضحة عن سياسة هؤلاء الخلفاء اتجاه شعبهم وقبلا اتجاه نفسهم المتأدبة بأدب الإسلام.
