Overview
أنشأها الأمير المملوكي الجركسي فخر الدين عبد الغني بن عبد الرازق بن تاج الدين، وذلك عام 821هـ/ 1418م، وتقع في شارع بورسعيد (الخليج المصري سابقًا) بحي وسط القاهرة، ويتكون تخطيطها من صحن أوسط مكشوف يحيط به أربع أروقة، أكبرها وأعمقها رواق القبلة وينقسم إلى ثلاث بلاطات، وقد عرفت هذه المدرسة باسم جامع البنات لأن البنت التي كانت لا يتيسر لها الزواج كانت تأتي إلي المسجد يوم الجمعة والناس يصلون وتجلس في مكان هناك فإذا كان المصلون في السجدة الأولى من الركعة الأولى تمر بين الصفين وتذهب اعتقادًا منها أن هذا سوف ييسر لها الزواج.
