Overview
إفتتح المتحف الإسلامي لأول مرة في منطقة التراث في السادس من شهر نوفمبر لعام 1996م. وتم تحويل هذا المتحف بتوجيهات من صاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتورسلطان بن محمد القاسمي عضو المجلس الأعلى للاتحاد حاكم إمارة الشارقة، الى سوق المجرة (الذي افتُتح كسوق في عام 1987 م) أُعيد افتتاح المتحف تحت اسم \"متحف الشارقة للحضارة الإسلامية\" في السادس من يونيو عام 2008 م، بعد نقل مقتنيات المتحف الإسلامي، بالإضافة إلى قطع جديدة منتقاة، إلى المقر الجديد الذي خضع لأعمال الترميم والتصميم ليتم عرضها بأسلوب عصري مطور.
