قد اشتهرت تركيا بجودة الصوف المستخدمة فى حياكة قطع السجاد التى تعتمد بشكل أساسى على جودة المراعى وعلى مستوى الكثافة التى يتميز بها صوف الحيوان، حيث ان تزايد التجعيدات تعنى بان الصوف تكون طويلا وناعم الملمس، فاننا نجد بان حائكى قطع السجاد كانوا يفضلون استخدام صوف أكتاف الأغنام وظهورها لتوافر هذه المميزات فيها ومن هذا المنطلق نجد ان حياكة سجاد الصلاة التركية تذكر فى أسيا الصغرى وفى المدن الواقعة بين جبال الأناضول مثل منطقة \" اوشاق \"و\" جورديز\" \" وقولا \" حيث تكثرالمراعى والتى توفر أجود اصواف الغنم ويوجد مدن واماكن كثيرة فى تركيا اشتهرت وذاع صيتها هى الأخرى فى عمل انواع من السجاد المتميز سواء سجاد الصلاة او السجاد بصفة عامة.
