يتناول الكتاب حيث انه كما قابلت في شرح الرسالة والتعليق عليها بين أتي به الكندي من مستحدثات فكرية في القرن الثالث للهجرة وما عرفة العرب من أصول الموسيقى الإغريقية عن طريق الترجمة في ذلك العصر وكذلك أقمت القارنة بين مذهب الكندي في نظرية الموسيقى وكتابات إخوان الصفا نظرا لتأثر هؤلاء الفلاسفة بمذهب الكندي وآرائه كما تناولت بعض الفروق بين آراء الكندي وآراء إسحق الموصلي من قبله والتي أثبتها يحيى بن علي بن يحيى ابن المنجم في رسالته الموسيقى.
