يحتوي هذا الكتاب على أدق المعلومات عن فريد الأطرش. حصل المؤلف على المعلومات من شريط سجله فريد نفسه قبل وفاته ببضعة أشهر وأعطاه للمؤلف الذي كان صديقه المقرب. نشر الكتاب بعد أشهر قليلة من وفاة فريد. وضع المؤلف المعلومات مباشرة في كلمات مكتوبة. معظم الكتب الأخرى تتحدث عن الكثير من المعلومات الخاطئة خاصة في عيد ميلاد فريد الذي يصادف 19 أبريل 1917 وفقا لشهادة الميلاد التي حصلت عليها مؤخرا، ووفقا لمداخلة معه على التلفزيون اللبناني حيث قال إنه ولد عام 1917.
