هذة الرواية تعرض لنا شخصية ما تكره العنف ولكن الأحداث تتغير وتنقلب فيقول : فكرة القتل، لم تخطر ببالي طول حياتي قط، ولم أكن أستطيع أن أرى طائرا يذبح، وكنت أغضب من زملائي في المدرسة حين يهاجمون العشق، ودائما أتعارك معهم، ولم أكن أعتبر القتل مبررلأي سبب، وفي أي مكان مفيدا أو ضروريا، وأومن أنه حينما ترتكب جريمة القتل في أي مكان وأي وقت، تكون الحيوانية والوحشية قد تغلبتا على العقل والمنطق، عندما ذهبت إلى السوق واشتريت المسدس، لم أكن أنا، بل هو وجودي الحيواني.
