Overview
يحيط البحث في هذا الكتاب اللثام عن هذه الأحداث. يبدأ الفصل الأول من هذا البحث بالنظر في الحملة التي سارت إلى الإحساء في شرق شبه الجزيرة العربية لتحقيق أغراض سياسية بعينها. ويدرس الفصل الثاني التعقيدات التي أحدثتها الحملة العثمانية في سياسة الخليج البريطانية، وما أدت إليه من تثبيت للنفوذ البريطاني في البحرين، وكذلك التعقيدات في الظهير الصحراوي الذي لفته الفوضى وسادته الفتن. وفي الفصل الثالث تحت متابعة التطورات السياسية في المنطقة حتى عام 1309 هـ/ 1891 م. تلك التطورات التي عصفت تماماً بالأسرة السعودية الحاكمة في نجد، وذلك بعد أن أنكرت القوتان المؤثرتان في الخليج-البريطانية والعثمانية-الدعم لتلك الأسرة.
