نبعت الفكرة من خلال الاحتكاك بالناس وقصصهم وتصوراتهم حول القراءة، وكانت الشرارة عندما نصحني أحد زملائي فى العمل بعدم القراءة حتى لا أصاب بالجنون أو الانحراف الفكري، هذه الخرافة هي التي حفزتني أو ألهبتني للبحث عن الخرافات الموجودة فى مجتمعاتنا العربية عن القراءة وفي كل مجتمع خرافات يحيكها الناس عبر الأزمان حول كل شيء من حولهم، ونحن في المجتمعات العربية، لدينا كذلك خرافات نسجت حول فعل القراءة، بعضها مضحك وبعضها ينطوي على مغالطات وبعض آخر غريب جدا.
