سبع حكايات استوحاها الكاتب الأسباني ميجيل أنخيل جونثالث عن كتاب «حكايات الحمراء» للكاتب الأمريكي الشهير واشنطون ايرفنج الذي زار قصور الحمراء في غرناطة عام 1829 وأقام في إحدى غرفها مختلطا بجماعات من الغجر والمشردين الذين كانوا يقطنوها في ذلك الزمن. حكايات يختلط فيها الخيال بالواقع والتاريخ بالعادات والتقاليد والأسطورة بالحقيقة، حول الكنوز المرصودة التي دفنها أبو عبد الله الصغير آخر ملوك غرناطة وحاشيته حتى لا تقع بين أيدي المسيحيين.كتبها المؤلف موجهة للصغار ليقرأها لهم الكبار بلغة مبسطة لتجذبهم وتدفعهم إلى الاهتمام بالتعرف على تاريخ الأمة الإسبانية الحقيقي الذي تعتبر الحقبة العربية الإسلامية في الأندلس جزءا مهما فيه وملمحا من أهم ملامح تفردها بين الأمم الأوروبية.
