Overview
يتحدث الكتاب عن متحف الفن المصرى الحديث الذي يتكون من عشر قاعات موزعة على ثلاثة طوابق بالإضافة إلى عرض فى الهواء الطلق فى مقدمة المتحف لأعمال النحت كبيرة الحجم ويضم المتحف آلاف القطع الفنية التي تمثل شتى التيارات الفنية منذ أوائل القرن العشرين وحتى الآن وجزء من هذه الأعمال موزع كإعارات للعرض فى متاحف أخرى أو فى أماكن عامة داخل مصر وخارجها وقد أقيم المبنى الحالي للمتحف في عام 1936 وكان يسمى السراي الكبرى ثم تم تطويره وتجهيزه ليفي بحاجات العرض المتحفي وليكون المقر الدائم لمتحف الفن المصري الحديث والذي افتتح رسميا في أواخر أكتوبر 1991 ثم خضع المتحف لعملية تطوير شاملة لنظم العرض المتحفي والإضاءة وتم افتتاحه في عام 2005.
