Overview
تدور أحداث الرواية حول حياة طفل فلسطيني في خمسينيات القرن العشرين، والذي عاش بعض وقائع النكبة الفلسطينية عام 1948 مثل مجزرة دير ياسين التي ارتكبتها العصابات الصهيونية المسلحة ضد أبناء القرية الفلسطينية وتتحدث الرواية عن طفولة \"مهند\" مثلما تتحدث عن فترة مراهقته وميله إلى الجنس الآخر متمثلا في ابنة الجيران \"عزيزة\" وفي ابنة المدينة \"نادية\" وأثناء ذلك يتعلق الطفل المراهق بمشاهدة أفلام السينما وبقراءة الروايات، ثم ينتبه في ضوء نصائح أبيه وأمه إلى أن الوقت ما يزال مبكرا على ارتباطه بأية فتاة، ولا بد قبل ذلك من الاهتمام بدروسه للنجاح في المدرسة ولاستكمال دراسته الجامعية وفي الرواية مزج بين الواقع والخيال، وفيها وصف لنزعات الفتى المراهق ولتطلعاته وأحلامه ورغباته ورؤاه.
