حاول الكاتب من خلال هذه الدراسة أن نلامس مختلف أوجه علاقة السكان بالموارد المائية بواحة تودغى بالجنوب المغربي، فاستنتجنا أن هذا المجتمع الواحي، مجتمع انقسامي حتى في علاقاته مع الماء، إذ أن الماء يظهر كأفق للتواصل مع السلطة و التراتب الاجتماعي، بمعنى أن القوة هي التي تسير الماء منذ القدم وحتى ألان، فالماء هو الرهان الذي تقاس به جميع مستويات التنظيم الاجتماعي، فرغم وجود إجراءات عرفية تسبق توزيع الماء، فإن تملكه الحقيقي يبقى مرهونا بتنافس مفتوح حوله ونتائج علاقات القوة والتضامن، بمعنى أن التوفر على حقوق الماء يقتضي التوفر على القوة للدفاع عنها.
