يضم كتاب «كلمة السر.. مذكرات محمد حسنى مبارك. يونيو 67-أكتوبر 73»، لمحرره عبدالله كمال، أحاديث ذكريات سجلها مبارك في نهاية السبعينات من القرن الماضي، مع الإعلامي الراحل محمد الشناوي، ولكنها لم تصدر في حينه.. إذ احتفظ بها محررهاـ ونسيها صاحبها. إلى أن وصلت كمال منذ أشهر. فتأكد أنها تخص الرئيس الأسبق، وتولى إعادة تحريرها والتقديم لها. حاول محرر المذكرات، إبلاغ الرئيس الأسبق حسنى مبارك، في العام الجاري، أنه عثر على هذا الكنز الخاص الذي كان أعد ما بين عامي 1978 و1979. وأرسل إلى وسطاء مختلفين، ثم كان أن تعرف مبارك إلى مذكراته المنسية، عبر محاميه فريد الديب، إلا أن الإجابة بموافقة النشر، لم تأت من مبارك إلا بعد إخلاء سبيله، أخيرا.. ومن ثم عرض كمال على دار «نهضة مصر» طباعتها ونشرها في كتاب، فرحبت بذلك وبشدة.
