يتناول الكتاب أحداث تاريخية بمختلف جوانبها الدور المهم الذي مارسه عدد من المسلمين وبقومياتهم المختلفة لاسيما ممن عملوا في البلاط المغولي سواء في عهد جنكيز خان أو في عهد خلفائه، لاسيما أن معظم هؤلاء كانوا من سكان البلاد التي خضعت للاحتلال المغولي، ونظرا لما كان يتمتع به هؤلاء من فكر إداري وسياسي وعسكري ثاقب، لهذا سعى جنكيز خان وخلفاؤه إلى تقريبهم منهم وأولوهم اهتماما كبيرا لغرض الإفادة من قدراتهم الإدارية والسياسية والعسكرية، وأعطوا اهتماما اكبر لمن كان يتمتع منهم بمواهب علمية وفكر ثاقب وإلمام بعلوم شتى، وبمن يتقن لغات عدة.
