كتاب تاريخي مصدري، صنفه مؤرخ مدينة زبيد اليمانية في القرن الرابع عشر الهجري الشيخ عبد الرحمن الحضرمي، عرض فيه للمراحل التاريخية التي مرت بها مدينة زبيد العريقة، وسماها بـ (جامعة الأشاعرة) لأنها الموطن الأصلي لقبيلة الأشاعر التي وفدت على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. وقد ترجم المؤلف لأعلام زبيد وفضلائها منذ فجر الإسلام إلى عصره. والكتاب يعد الأكبر في موضوعه، والمصدر الأهم الذي اجتمع فيه ما تفرق في بقية الكتب من تاريخ مدينة زبيد، وزاد بأن تضمن تراجم لعلماء عاصرهم المؤلف ولم يترجم لهم غيره، ووصف أحداثا عاصرها ولم ترد في مصدر آخر، وأورد جانبا كبيرا من التاريخ الأدبي لأدباء زبيد حينما ساق تراجمهم ومقطوعات كاملة من شعرهم ونثرهم.
