تعد الوثائق البريطانية أغزر مرجع عن الجزيرة العربية منذ بداية القرن العشرين، نظرا لعلاقة بريطانيا الوثيقة بشؤون الجزيرة العربية، ودورها المهم في الخليج العربي وإماراته، فضلا عن العراق ومصر. يحتوي الجزء (الرابع) من هذه السلسلة على الوثائق الخاصة لسنة 1919 التي كانت من السنوات الحاسمة في تاريخ المنطقة، لأنها كانت أولى سنوات السلام التي أعقبت أعظم حرب شهدها العالم حتى ذلك الوقت، وفيها عقد مؤتمر الصلح في فرساي لإعادة رسم خريطة العالم بعد الحرب.
